Software QA Tester

Job Purpose

The application support officer will work under the supervision of the ICT director in designated institutions and play the role of a first-level support officer. In this role, the personnel is expected to attend to basic non-technical support and log all technical issues, escalate to the second-level support team, follow up with effective communication between relevant stakeholders, report resolution status, and ensure that customers are well served and happy.


  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Develop and implement an automated testing framework using Appium, Cypress, and Selenium, resulting in a significant reduction in manual testing effort and increased test coverage.


  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); proficiency in the use of project management tools (Monday, Ms. Project), proficiency in automation tools like (SELENIUM, POSTMAN, JIRA, JMeter, SQL, Java, Cypress, and AXURE).
  • Testing Methodologies: V-Model, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall Model
