Technical Assistant (TA)

Reports To:

Managing Director

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who learns quickly, anticipates needs, works effectively, independently and also as part of a team, has demonstrated the ability to handle multiple tasks. Also, Business knowledge of Oil & Gas is very key as you are almost senior management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Working directly with the Managing Director in the preparation and presentation of reports, proposals and related activities in servicing and developing contracts and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organizing/conducting business review meetings in order to track business operational performance in line with the Annual Business Plan
  • Understand key issues that impact the Executive Management Team, and be able to speak to issues and have some deep perspectives on insights.
  • Undertakes data analysis, identifies and investigates variations and produces accurate statistics, relevant figures and facts needed by the Managing Director etc.
  • Develops and maintains technical databases and spreadsheets, sources technical documents, information and drawings where necessary
  • Conducts analysis on information received and reports to the MD and also generate reports such as MD’s monthly reports and weekly reports.
  • Provides input to technical studies/research projects, project planning, etc.
  • Collate and organize strategic planning initiatives in line with the company’s business framework.
  • Provides assistance to the Managing Director and other Directors in the development, coordination and implementation of strategic plans of the company.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of strategic initiatives for the year.
  • Manage trend dashboard, prepare dashboard covering the entire business depicting the organizational progress, highlighting the positives and negatives and reporting performance to the MD on timely basis.
  • Reviewing incoming mail for the MD and determine course of action
  • Assists the MD in the creation and implementation of business policy
  • Attend and contribute to meetings on behalf of the MD, reporting back and follow up if required
  • Organize Monthly Performance Reviews
  • Maintain records and data utilizing various automated systems which may include creating database/server, developing tracking systems/spreadsheets, setting up files, etc.
  • Oversight of calendar management and Set up annual leave and meeting plans for management team
  • Working hand in hand with the EA to the MD to ensure that the MD’s programmes and activities are fully coordinated and aligned and ensure optimal utilization of the CEO’s time and resources.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum of Eight (8)years’ experience with an oil and gas operating company or a specialist oil and gas service company
  • Non prior experience as a TA is not a deal breaker, but Understanding of the Oil and Gas sector is very Key.
  • University Degree in Engineering or any related field.
  • A Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering will be an advantage
  • Credibility and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team and discreetly and routinely handle confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization, multi-tasking, and producing high quality, error-free work product.
  • Membership of professional bodies; e.g. Nigerian Society of Engineers, National Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPEE), Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), registration with COREN etc. Shall be an added advantage
